Politico's Donovan Slack got
his her (thanks for the correction, Tim) undies in a bundle over President Obama's appearance in Milwaukee yesterday. Looking for some red meat to feed the wingnuts, she reported that the stage featured not only a U.S. flag, but an equally prominent one for "the local union, Wisconsin 1848" (the unintentionally humorous article has been pulled from the site, but a screenshot can still be seen
here). (h/t,

Yes, that is the Wisconsin state flag that Donovan Slack criticized. She probably didn't recognize it without the
palm trees in the background.

Donovan Slack is a "she" - and I'll be surprised if it turns out that the story everyone (including me) is talking about didn't originate somewhere other than politico.com. Slack worked for the Boston Globe for years before taking the job with politico, and she's far to experienced to have made a mistake like this. At least, I hope she is. I'm wondering if politico got hacked. This story is just too stoopid to be true, but the fact that so many people think it's "real" says something, too.
Unfortunately....the story is/was real. She really is that stupid.
Gawd...I just read this in detail for the first time...glanced at it when it happened but...what an idiot!
And these morons got the First Amendment given to them! Bozos!!!
