A football game has two halves. It is necessary to out-play your opponent in both of them.
A 10-point lead is inadequate until the final two minutes of the game (and sometimes even then). Playing like you just want to run out the clock and preserve a 10-point lead will usually cause you to lose it.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder about Bielema's ability to lead a Big Ten program. His recruiting hasn't exactly dazzled me, nor has he impressed me as a coach.
Fire the coach. He is going downhill in the past 2 years and it doesn't look like it will get much better in the future.
There will be no statue of Bret Bielema at Camp Randall.
But for Barry to fire him would be to admit his mistake in crowning his replacement (without the legally-mandated job search).
Bielma seems to know defense, but he can't run an offense. If Barry doesn't want to admit his mistake and fire him, he can always moonlight as Offensive Coordinator.
